Market Intervention Scheme (MIS):

The government has revised specific guidelines for the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS).

Market Intervention Scheme (MIS):

• MIS is now a component of the integrated PM-AASHA (Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan) scheme.
• PM-AASHA aims to provide remunerative prices to farmers through components like the Price Support Scheme (PSS), Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS), and the Private Procurement & Stockist Scheme (PPPS).

Purpose: MIS helps prevent farmers from distress selling perishable agricultural and horticultural commodities.

Implementation Mechanism: The scheme is activated upon request from the State/UT Government.

Condition: A reduction of at least 10% in market prices, compared to the rates of the previous normal season, must occur in the State/UT.

Procurement/Coverage: The limit on the production quantity of crops that can be covered has been increased from 20% to 25%.
