About Social Justice
Definition: Social justice is a fundamental principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence both within and between nations (United Nations).
Five Key Principles of Social Justice:
- Equity: Acknowledging that different individuals have different needs and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in political, economic, and social life.
- Participation: Enabling all individuals to contribute meaningfully in society.
- Diversity: Valuing differences, such as race, gender, and sexual orientation.
- Rights: Safeguarding the human rights of all individuals.
- Access: Ensuring everyone has access to resources and opportunities to succeed.
Social, Economic, and Political Justice
As outlined in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, social justice also includes efforts to uplift marginalized communities and individuals.
- UN Women: Focuses on eliminating discrimination against women and girls.
- Article 46: Mandates special educational and economic support for SCs, STs, and other weaker sections.

- Article 39A: Provides free legal aid for disadvantaged individuals.
