Isolationism
Some experts believe that the policies of the current U.S. President mark the beginning of a new era of isolationism.
Isolationism refers to a political principle or practice where a country focuses solely on its own interests and avoids political or economic involvement with other nations. This approach has periodically influenced U.S. foreign policy, often emerging as a response to perceived failures or challenges in managing costly or risky international commitments.
Benefits: Greater domestic control, avoidance of conflict.
Disadvantages: Ineffective in addressing global issues, often hampers economic growth.
Parvatmala Pariyojana
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the construction of a ropeway project in Uttarakhand under the Parvatmala Pariyojana initiative.
Parvatmala Pariyojana (2023)
Objective: To enhance connectivity in hilly and remote areas.
Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH)
Implementation Agency: National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special-purpose vehicle of NHAI.
The projects are being executed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), with the Government of India contributing approximately 60% of the support.
