The Oilfield (Regulatory and Development) Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha.

Key Features:

• Amendment to the 1948 Act:
  The Bill amends the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act of 1948.

• Objective:
  The aim is to modernize the legal framework to address current market conditions and attract more investment in the sector.

• Expanded Definition of Mineral Oils:
  The Bill broadens the definition of mineral oils to include naturally occurring hydrocarbons, coal bed methane, and shale gas/oil.

• Introduction of Petroleum Leases:
  The Bill introduces a streamlined single permit system under the name of petroleum leases.

PM-YUVA 3.0 (Young, Upcoming, and Versatile Authors)

The Ministry of Education has launched PM-YUVA 3.0, a mentorship program for young and aspiring authors.

About PM-YUVA 3.0:

• Objective:
  PM-YUVA 3.0 is an author mentorship program aimed at training young authors (below 30 years) in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. It seeks to promote reading, writing, and book culture, while showcasing Indian literature on a global scale.

• Implementing Agency:
  The program is managed by the National Book Trust (NBT).

• Selection Process:
  A total of 50 authors will be selected through a contest focused on the following themes:

  • Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building
  • Indian Knowledge System
  • Makers of Modern India (1950-2025)

• Publishing and Translation:
  The selected books will be published by NBT and translated into various Indian languages, encouraging cultural and literary exchange, and fostering the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
