Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0

The Union Government has approved the upgradation of 338 Anganwadi Centres under the Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 initiative.

About Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0:

• Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
• Vision: An Integrated Nutrition Support Programme designed to tackle malnutrition challenges among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

Objectives:

• Improve the nutritional and health status of children aged 0-6 years.
• Reduce the rates of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition, and school dropouts.
• Enhance the ability of mothers to care for their children’s health and nutritional needs through education on nutrition and health.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports hosted the inaugural BIMSTEC Youth Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The summit aims to foster youth collaboration in the region and facilitate the exchange of youth-led initiatives among BIMSTEC member countries.

About BIMSTEC (Secretariat: Dhaka, Bangladesh):

• Genesis: BIMSTEC was established in 1997 with the signing of the Bangkok Declaration.
• Members: Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, and Bhutan.
• Objective: To promote rapid economic development, social progress, and ensure peace and stability in the Bay of Bengal region.
