Concerns with AI in Governance:
Data Security and Privacy Risks: AI models process user inputs on external servers, which can expose sensitive government data to potential storage, access, or misuse. For example, the 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack disrupted the UK's National Health Service.
Bias and Manipulation Risks: AI models may inherit biases from their training data, leading to unfair policies or systemic discrimination. There is also the risk that AI-generated policy recommendations could be manipulated through data poisoning attacks. For instance, predictive policing algorithms in the US have raised concerns about racial biases.
