The India-US TRUST (Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technology) initiative was launched during the Indian Prime Minister's visit to Washington. It aims to enhance cooperation in critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, advanced materials, and more.

Significance of the TRUST Initiative:

• Encourages public and private investments to boost manufacturing capacity and create jobs in both India and the US.
• Promotes exports by reducing barriers to technology transfer, addressing export controls, and enhancing high-tech commerce.
• Establishes trusted and resilient supply chains for critical minerals, semiconductors, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, etc.
• Supports the recovery and processing of strategic minerals like lithium and Rare Earth Elements to diversify supply chains and counter China’s dominance.
• Promotes innovation by fostering collaboration between governments, academia, and the private sector in critical and emerging technologies such as defense, AI, and quantum technology.
• Strengthens the government’s National Critical Mineral Mission, encouraging both public and private companies to acquire critical mineral assets abroad.
