A new water flea species, a crustacean from the genus Bryospilus (Indobryospilus bharaticus), has been recently discovered near Korigad Fort, Pune.

About Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)

  • Meaning: Shatavari translates to “curer of a hundred diseases.”
  • Description: It is a medicinal, woody climber that grows to a height of 1-2 meters.
  • Uses: The dried roots and leaves are used in Ayurvedic medicine.
  • Habitat: Shatavari thrives at low altitudes in shaded areas within tropical climates.
  • Distribution: It is found across Asia, Australia, and Africa.
  • Health Benefits: Shatavari supports female reproductive health, hormonal balance, promotes vitality, aids ulcer healing, boosts immunity, and helps treat nervous disorders, among other benefits.
