Also known as activated charcoal or active carbon, it is produced from environmental waste materials with high carbon content.

• High degree of surface reactivity

Uses:

• Water purification, dechlorination, and deodorization
• As an economical adsorbent in food-grade products, cosmetics, and automotive applications
• Precious metal recovery, primarily for gold.

LCA Tejas

Recently, the DRDO conducted high-altitude trials of the Indigenous Integrated Life Support System (ILSS) for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas. The ILSS is a cutting-edge system that generates and regulates breathable oxygen for pilots during flight, eliminating the need for traditional liquid oxygen cylinders.

About LCA Tejas

The LCA Tejas is an Indian single-engine, 4.5-generation multirole combat aircraft developed by the DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Agency.

There are three production variants:

• Tejas Mark 1
• Tejas Mark 1A
• Tejas trainer/light attack aircraft
