The Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs emphasized the importance of the Online Assurances Monitoring System (OAMS) in effectively managing government assurances.

About OAMS

OAMS, implemented by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA), is a digital platform designed to systematically track, monitor, and ensure the fulfillment of assurances made by ministers in Parliament.

Assurances are commitments made by ministers during responses to questions or debates on the floor of the House, which may include promises or undertakings. These assurances are often given when information is unavailable at the time but must be fulfilled within three months. Under the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, MoPA is responsible for overseeing the implementation of these assurances.

Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS)

The Minister of Finance has launched a dedicated mobile app for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS).

About PMIS

Launched in 2024 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, PMIS aims to provide internship opportunities for 1 crore youth (aged 21 to 24) across India’s top 500 companies over the next five years. The scheme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs, helping to enhance the employability of participants by promoting skill development and professional growth through practical exposure.

Duration and Compensation

The internships are 12 months long, offering a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 to each intern, along with a one-time financial assistance of ₹6,000.
